Island Public/Natural Science P.S., located on Centre Island -  a short ferry ride from Harbourfront - offers Junior Kindergarten through Grade 6 programs and has an enrolment of 177 students.  The school dates back to 1888 and its unique outdoor setting lends itself to students being closely in touch with nature. Island Public has the distinction of being home to the only TDSB residential Outdoor Education Centre in the city.
