Toronto Centre Rosedale is located in the heart of Toronto and is one of the most diverse wards in Ontario.
We have 9,185 young people from age 5 and 14 living here, along with 4,430 older teens from 15 to19. for a total of 13,615 school-age residents.
Our diversity is also demonstrated by the number of different languages spoken by residents of Ward 14. The majority, as one would expect, consider English as their mother tongue, followed by Chinese which is the native language of 4,935 residents. An additional 2,425 people designate Cantonese and a further 1,720 declare Mandarin as their mother tongue. There are 3,685 individuals who say French is their original language, followed by Spanish and Korean as the next two most common mother tongues.
There are 27,335 families living in our ward, and slightly more than half of them – 14,740 – have children. There are 5,555 single parent families.
